After work one day, I stopped by the Paper Source at Santana Row. I remember this store from Berkeley as a magical paper place! I remembered correctly and was helped by a nice man named Ben (I think). He set up me to look at their invitations and was so helpful in answering all my questions (and I had a lot). Nothing really struck my fancy, so I ended up showing him one that I really liked from another vendor's website. He helped me brainstorm ways to make that invitation stand out by adding other little touches. He was supportive of the invitation I wanted and wasn't trying to hard-sell me anything at all! Eventually, we started talking about a personal letterpress machine I had purchased and different ways to use it. He was knowledgeable about the products in his store (and where to get accessories if Paper Source didn't carry it) and was honest in giving his advice on what we could make ourselves and what we should leave to professionals.
Once I have my sample, I will definitely be back to learn how to make envelope liners (saving a lot on the cost of envelopes) and finalize my invitation look!
