Margaret's French Bakery, Campbell, CA
Today, we visited our third (and hopefully final) bakery for our wedding cake. We had thirteen different kinds of cakes. Luckily, they were in smaller (way smaller) than the other cakes we had tried. The cake was extremely moist (to which the Margaret, the owner, said "thank you"), but I didn't like those as much. Maybe I'm just used to less high-quality cakes!
I can't even remember all thirteen I tried, but there were the really moist cakes, the denser cakes, the buttercream frosting, the cream cheese filling, and the amaretto filling.
Guess which was my favorite?
Margaret was wonderful to talk to; she was very kind in answering all my questions about the difference between tortes and other cakes. She was flexible in design options and was willing to work with my (scattered) design ideas.
I *think* I'm going to go with this one! A three tier cake, a whimsical design, and a sweet surprise in the bottom tier!
